2. You get there through the Temple of Ages by paying 1k to the Balthazar Champion. (You must ascend before you can access this.)

3. Tons of shadows and skeletons to fight. You'll find chaos axes, shards, pretty much most items you can find elsewhere, just of better quality and higher quantity.
